We live in a time when everyone’s talking about generative AI since OpenAI launched ChatGPT late last year. But today, we are here to discuss another generative AI engine introduced by Google called Bard.
Google first started inviting users to join a waitlist to access Bard on 21 March 2023. However, Google eliminated the waitlist on 10 May, making Bard available across more than 180 countries and territories.
Now, let’s start our discussion on Bard Experiment Updates.
What is Bard?
We’ve already established Bard is a generative AI, but what is that? Generative AI models, like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Dall-e, etc., can create new content, including images, videos, text, and more. As far as Bard is concerned, it is an AI-powered chatbot focused on providing answers in a natural manner, nearly imitating how humans converse.
Bard is also identified as a large language model (LLM). It is a neural network that learns to process natural language by feeding on massive amounts of text.
Interestingly, Google search integration gives Bard an edge over similar AI models, enabling it to report the latest information, apart from its base LLM training.

Google Bard Experiment Updates
Now that you are all caught up with information on Bard, it’s time to look at how it has evolved since its launch.
For starters, Google set up a Bard experiment updates page for people to stay updated with the latest features and bug fixes for the Bard experiment. Furthermore, it was also updated with enhanced capabilities for maths and logic, allowing it to provide accurate answers to users effectively.
Coding
A few weeks after launching, Bard was updated to help experienced engineers and beginners in programming languages by generating and exporting Python code. That’s right; you can now code in 20 different programming languages using Bard. Plus, you can easily generate and export the code in Google Colab to test if it works appropriately.
You can use Bard for various programming languages, including JavaScript, C++, TypeScript, Java, Go, and Python. Bard can also explain the code to you in case you have any confusion.
Since Bard is in its experimental phase, Google has warned users to carefully test the code before using it at their own discretion.
Google It
At the bottom of the generated response, you’ll find a button labelled ‘Google It.’ Clicking it gives you a list of additional suggested search topics, allowing you to widen your research by exploring a broader range of interests.
Drafts
You enter a prompt, and Bard generates a suitable response. That’s how the newly launched AI system works. However, have you noticed a button labelled ‘View Other Drafts’ on the top right corner of the generated response?
It shows you other drafts of the same response, out of which Bard gave you the most precise answer. This is a great feature that can help creators learn about how to make their work unique and more refined.
Google Workspace Accounts
Bard was updated to allow Google Workspace admins to enable AI for their domains. As a result, they can access Bard through their Google Workspace accounts.
Moreover, it permits users to integrate Bard into their work for fulfilling research and other business needs. Needless to say, this would help companies improve productivity and efficiency across teams.
Dark Theme
Google updated Bard with a Dark theme, giving users access to an interface with a dark background and light text. Users can easily switch themes based on their preferences.
Of course, the dark theme helps users use the AI system without putting too much pressure on their eyes.
Google Docs & Gmail
In an attempt to help users streamline their work and boost efficiency, Bard was updated with one-click options to export generated responses to Gmail and Google Docs directly.
You can edit the exported content in any of the apps after obtaining it from Bard.
More Countries & Languages
Apart from US English, Bard can now speak Korean and Japanese. You can access Bard in all three languages across more than 180 countries and territories. Google plans to expand
Bard’s understanding of human languages gradually while making it available to users worldwide.
Better At Summaries
Another update helped Bard get better at providing summarized content for those who want to understand the gist of a topic without dedicating a lot of time.
While announcing this update, Google confirmed that it developed its large language models to make Bard more advanced at providing summaries. It is expected to improve further in the future.
Images
It’s no secret images help with communicating ideas in a more descriptive and engaging manner with higher chances of getting approvals. Bard’s latest update allows it to generate responses with images, enhancing the overall user experience to a great extent.
Interestingly, Bard also provides the source link for each image you can use for reference. You can also enter a prompt asking Bard to show you certain images directly. This update is quite resourceful since it enables Bard to communicate with visual representation.
Final Words
Like all other AI models, Bard is consistently being improved to perform better and generate accurate responses for users. It is safe to say more Bard experiment updates will be announced soon, so keep following us to stay updated.
